PADI Rescue Diver course
Rescue Diver Course
“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence as a diver.
Most divers find this course both demanding and fun, and at the end, say it’s the best course they’ve ever taken.
During this course you will learn –
- Self rescue
- Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
The Rescue Diver Course takes 3-4 days (plus one day for Emergency First Response course if you are not already first aid trained), involving knowledge development, confined water training and open water training. The knowledge development can be done online through PADI e-learning, before you get to the island, which means you do not have to do any classroom work during your holiday!
The knowledge development takes 4-5 hours to complete and can be done on-line through the PADI e-learning scheme, before you get to the island. Or if you wish, you can do all your theory on the island. For more details please contact us.
- eLearning (payable directly to PADI) – $135
- Rescue Diver Course – 10,500,000 VND (aprx $500)
Prices include all equipment, dive guide, marine park fees and refreshments.
All knowledge development can also be done here on the island, if you would prefer not to take the eLearning option. Contact us for details.
To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course:
- you must be 12 years or older,
- have a PADI Advanced Open Water certification (or an equivalent qualifying certification from another organization),
- be trained and current for First Aid and CPR within the previous two years (contact us for information about the Emergency First Responder Course that we run.)
PADI Medical Form
All PADI Rescue diver students must complete a medical form before starting the course (click the link below to view)
If the answer is YES to ANY of the questions, please print out the form and see a Doctor before traveling to Con Dao to obtain medical certification that it is safe for you to dive. We cannot do this on the island. If your answers are all NO’s, we can complete paperwork when you get here and start your course.
Also please note that when diving in Con Dao we require guests to be covered via insurance for diving, and emergency evacuation due to the remoteness of the island and limited medical facilities. If this is not already covered by your travel insurance policy, we recommend DAN (Divers Alert Network).
