EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE (EFR) COURSE
Description
The Emergency First Response (EFR) course in Con Dao teaches you how to confidently respond to medical emergencies, not only in diving situations but also in everyday life. This land-based course requires no water sessions, making it suitable for everyone, including non-divers.
EFR training is a required prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver course — the most rewarding course in recreational diving. If you are planning to take the Rescue Diver course, completing EFR first (or alongside it) is the most efficient use of your time in Con Dao.
Academic
You’ll learn how to:
- Respond to life-threatening emergencies using CPR (Primary Care)
- Provide first aid for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses (Secondary Care)
- Apply bandaging, illness assessments, and injury management
- Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Build confidence as a first responder in high-stress scenarios
The course includes knowledge development through independent study and instructor-led skill sessions and scenarios.
Equipment
No diving equipment required. All medical training materials and practice tools (manikins, AED trainers, bandages, gloves, etc.) are provided during the course.
